FORM TWO

FORM 2: It is derived from the FORM 1 by doubling the second root letter. e.g., let's say the first form is the verb "qatala" = to kill, the second form or FORM 2 would be "qattala" = to massacre. This form of the verb indicates that the action expressed in the first form is taken to the extreme. It also means causing to one to do the action expressed in the first form. For example, 'Alima means to know. Second form of this verb is 'Allama and it means causing one to know, i.e. to teach. Another example is the verb Hamala = carry. The second form is derived as causing someone to carry, e.g., Hammala = to load. The exemplary verb fa'A-'Ala is used for conjugation.
